Cafe Manager Pro and Screen Shield network setup guide

IP Address connection mode
|
- Install Cafe Manager on a system connected into a network. This will be your admin PC, usually situated at reception, where you are dealing with customers.
- Install Screen Shield on client systems for customers. In Screen Shield's set-up Wizard menu select 'IP Address Connection' mode.
- In Cafe Manager go to menu Tools>Configuration and select Screen Shield tab, select
Dynamic IP Address or Static IP Address connection mode.
For Dynamic IP - enter range of IP Addresses that are allowed by
your network router/server.
For Static IP - click Shield Config button and enter IP Addresses for every client PC where you installed Screen Shield.
In IP Address connection mode Screen Shield and Cafe Manager exchange
information in Real Time. Changes in client's status
(locked/unlocked/shutdown) reflected immediately in Cafe Manager:
- Customers can finish session by themselves and information will be passed from Screen Shield to Cafe Manager. Cafe Manager will automatically calculate time and charges.
- If admin personnel logged on client PC - it will be reflected in Cafe Manager
- You can Ping client system from Cafe Manager to find out it's current status.
- When client PC is restarted - its status will be updated in Cafe Manager window.

Network Path Connection mode configuration
|
- Install Cafe Manager on a system connected into a network. This will be your admin PC, usually situated at reception, where you are dealing with customers.
- Install Screen Shield on client systems for customers. Share Screen Shield's installation directory with full access rights (Read/Write) for admin PC (where Cafe Manger is installed). In Screen Shield's set-up Wizard menu select 'Network Path Connection' mode.
- On admin PC, map network drive for every Shield's shared directory on a network. Check box 'Reconnect at start up'
- Reboot admin PC, just to make sure everything is OK.
- In Cafe Manager go to menu Tools>Configuration and select Screen Shield tab, select 'Network Path Connection' mode and configure Network Path through a mapped drive for every PC where you have Shield installed.

By default, in this mode Screen Shield will only receive commands from Cafe Manager and Cafe Manager will only send commands to Screen Shield. If you would like programs to exchange information in
send-receive Real Time mode please do following:
- In Cafe Manager Configuration menu, Screen Shield tab select 'Allow Cafe Manager receive signals from client
PCs' For Network Path connection mode Cafe Manager will create folder called
SEF you will need to share this folder with Full access rights.
- In Screen Shield set-up wizard select 'Allow Screen Shield to connect to server application' For IP Address connection - enter IP Address of the Cafe Manager PC. For Network path connection mode navigate to SEF folder on Cafe Manager PC.
Those settings will provide you with following:
